Creating a Document
Navigate to the project where you want to create a new document in left sidebar. Click New Document under the project name. The new document is opened and saved as Untitled Docuement. Each document has a ⋮ menu with the usual options: Rename, Share, Move To, Archive.Renaming
You have three options:- Click the title at the top of the editor and type a new name. It saves when you click away.
- In the sidebar, hit the menu icon next to the current document title, and select Rename. Press Enter to save.
- Ask the assistant to rename your document!
Sharing Documents for Collaboration
Navigate to the document name in the left panel. Tap the and select Share. Then enter the email address of the person you want to share the document with.Note: this person must be an Inkstone user.
You can revoke access to your document at any time, by clicking the icon next to the person’s name.
Auto-Save
Everything saves automatically. The “Edited 5 minutes ago” timestamp at the top right above the tool bar tells you when the last save happened. You don’t need to think about saving.Printing
The Print button in the toolbar opens your browser’s print dialog. You can print to paper or save as PDF—whatever your browser supports.Archiving
To delete a document, simply click the menu next to the document title in the left sidebar, and select archive. This will delete the document from your view.Restoring
If you deleted a document that you want to use again, you can restore it. Select “Restore” from the menu on the top of the sidebar on the left. A panel will populate on the right of the screen with all your archived projects. First, you will see the list of archived projects. Scrolling down, you will see all the documents you have archived. Alternatively you can search the document by name. Once you find the document you want to restore, just click restore and it will reappear within the project where it used to be.Working Across Documents
A common pattern: keep research and notes in one document, your actual draft in another. Use the AI assistant to pull ideas together, or just copy and paste between them.Next Steps
