Skip to main contentYou can have as many documents as you need. Your recent documents appear on the home page for quick access.
Creating a Document
From the Home Page
Click “Go to Editor”
Click the New Document button in the left sidebar. That’s it.
The left sidebar shows all documents in your current project. Click one to open it. The active document is highlighted.
Each document has a ⋮ menu with the usual options: Rename, Move To, Archive.
Renaming
You have three options:
- Click the title at the top of the editor and type a new name. It saves when you click away.
- In the left sidebar, hit the menu icon next to the current document title, and select “Rename”. Press Enter to save.
- Ask the assistant to rename your document!
Name your documents something useful. “Chapter 3 - The Confrontation” beats “doc3” when you’re scanning through a list at midnight.
Auto-Save
Everything saves automatically. The “Edited 5 minutes ago” timestamp at the bottom tells you when the last save happened. You don’t need to think about saving.
Printing
The Print button in the toolbar opens your browser’s print dialog. You can print to paper or save as PDF—whatever your browser supports.
Archiving
To delete a document, simply click the menu next to the document title in the left sidebar, and select archive. This will delete the document from your view.
Restoring
If you deleted a document that you want to use again, you can restore it.
Select “Restore” from the menu on the top of the sidebar on the left.
A panel will populate on the right of the screen with all your archived projects. First, you will see the list of archived projects. Scrolling down, you will see all the documents you have archived. Alternatively you can search the document by name.
Once you find the document you want to restore, just click restore and it will reappear within the project where it used to be.
Working Across Documents
A common pattern: keep research and notes in one document, your actual draft in another. Use the AI assistant to pull ideas together, or just copy and paste between them.
